Empowering Youth To Realize Their Potential

FOX

The Pro Power Foundation is a community-based non-profit organization that uses sports to improve the lives of at-risk youth in the Montgomery County Area. With an emphasis on social emotional learning, academic support, and mentorship the Pro Power team aims to change the life trajectories of at-risk youth within our area. We welcome your participation, involvement and efforts to help us improve the lives of children in our community. We are always looking for cooperate sponsors. Learn more about our work below.

At Risk Youth

The Pro Power Foundation believes that all youth are at risk. In today's society, regardless of age, race, gender, family composition, income or community, all children are at risk.

  • According to HUD's 2014 Point-in-Time Report, 34% of the total homeless population is under 24. [DoSomething]

  • About 80% of homeless youth (aged 12-21) use drugs or alcohol as a means to self-medicate to deal with the traumatic experiences and abuse they face. [DoSomething]

  • Suicide among teens and young adults has nearly tripled since the 1940’s. [CDC]

  • Of the reported suicides in the 10 to 24 age group, 81% of the deaths were males and 19% were females. [CDC]

Pro Power seeks to empower at risk youth by meeting them where they may already be engaged. We believe sports is one of the first places. We use sports to reengage and motivate youth. Our coaches and staff show youth that they can work hard on the field and in the classroom, be more involved in their community, and grow as a person regardless of their current situation.
